Space42 Launches Future Space Pioneers Programme for Emirati Students

Abu Dhabi-based space technology company Space42 has launched the Future Space Pioneers programme, a four-to-16-week training track designed to give Emirati students practical experience in space technology, artificial intelligence and related technical fields.

The first cohort includes students from Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and Zayed University, alongside school pupils selected by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge. Space42 plans to run two intakes each year.

The programme is aimed at students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, as well as AI, data management and other technical disciplines. Selection is based on academic and professional criteria including field of study, minimum GPA requirements and interviews.

Participants will attend seminars on space technology applications and the use of AI to analyse large volumes of data, while also working on supervised projects tied to challenges relevant to Space42 and the wider sector. The programme also includes training in problem-solving, collaboration, communication and adaptability, with participants receiving a certificate recognised by partner organisations.

Space42 was formed in 2024 through the merger of Bayanat and Yahsat. The company combines satellite communications, geospatial data and AI across its Space Services and Smart Solutions businesses, and is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange under the ticker SPACE42.
