The Dubai Smart City Accelerator’s Third Cohort Set to Close with a Demo Day on January 14

The region's leading smart city accelerator is graduating 11 startups from smart industries such as data science, AI and smart retail.

The Dubai Smart City Accelerator (DSCA) is celebrating the completion of its third cohort, with the eleven chosen startups set to be revealed on January 14th. The demo day is the highlight event of the year in Dubai's entrepreneurial ecosystem, as VCs, investors, and corporate executives are invited to hear the startups' pitches and value propositions.

Powered by Startupbootcamp, the DSCA has emerged as MENA’s leading smart city accelerator in its goal to supporting startups that are dedicated to making cities smarter and more efficient. The three-month programme includes funding, office space, and mentorship to nurture the next generation of smart city solutions.

The eleven winners were hand-picked from a pool of over 800 international startups and participated in an extensive three-month-long acceleration programme to focus on providing solutions in key areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Retail, Data Analytics, IoT, Big Data, Tourism and more.

The 11 startups graduating from the programme's Demo Day include:

  1. BasilLabs from USA helps decision-makers crack the offline consumer experience (CX) puzzle.

  2. Carers from Jordan is a marketplace provides "Peace of Mind" for families by using the best matching algorithm to connect trustworthy and reliable in-home nursing, physiotherapy and childcare services for their loved ones by having the highest vetting standard.

  3. Controlcast from Jordan is a digital out-of-home marketplace platform that enables advertisers to instantly and affordably advertise on local digital screens directly through an easy-to-use user interface to increase their marketing reach and effectiveness.

  4. Dressire from India is an artificial intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision-based HyperPersonalisation Platform helping Brick & Mortar retailers KNOW their customers’ preferences so they can present the right product at the right time to the right customer.

  5. Global Miles (Turkey) a blockchain platform enabling miles distributed across the world to be used and managed by a mobile application for frequent flyers and airlines.

  6. Lightified from the UAE helps Interior Designers and other Construction Professionals make better lighting choices. 

  7. Monocle Reality from the UAE is an augmented reality platform that allows its users to experience their surroundings through a camera lens. 

  8. Near Motion from Saudi Arabia provides interactive buildings that interact with visitors according to their locations, welcome them on arrival, and guide them step by step indoors through digital way-finding towards their destination.

  9. Receet from Palestine empowers merchants to build customer loyalty, be sustainable and enhance the customer’s shopping experience through digital receipts and a new marketing channel.

  10. Revotonix from Lebanon specialises in developing mobile robots and mechatronics solutions for any application.

    11. Shorages from UAE helps e-commerce companies unlock new markets by providing storage & fulfillment services for them.   

The DSCA is the leading Smart City program in the MENA region, supported by the industry leaders including DSOA, Dubai Chamber, du, Smart Dubai, Visa, Orange Business Services, and RIT Dubai. Partners have played an imperative role in accelerating the growth of the startups providing them with mentorship, introductions, and market entry facilitation.
