Applications Now Open for Dubai Smart City Accelerator, Powered by Startupbootcamp
Deadline: November 10.
The Dubai Smart City Accelerator programme, powered by Startupbootcamp, invited global and regional startups with innovative smart city solutions to apply and join its fourth cohort.
Applications from the respective industries are accepted: Internet of Things (IoT) and smart connectivity, urban automation and mobility, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, open city data, sustainable cities and living, smart government and smart retail.
Launched in 2017, the Dubai Smart City Accelerator (DSCA) programme, powered by global network of accelerator enabler Startupbootcamp, is supported by seven partners including Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, telecom giant Du, Dubai Chamber, Smart Dubai, RIT Dubai and Visa Orange Business Services. These partners have joined forces to fund the programme, provide expertise, unparalleled access to their deeply-rooted network of professionals, and exposure channels for emerging startups.
“We are looking for startups that want to engage in Dubai and the MENA region in the long-term. Our programme provides unparalleled access to government and corporate partners driving forward Dubai’s vision to be the leading global Smart City,” says Ibrahim seksek, Managing Director of the DSCA programme.
The accelerator’s fourth cohort is an intenstive three-month programme, schedule to run from mid-January through April of 2020. The ten startups that are selected will receive the exclusive Startupbootcamp acceleration package benefits that include 15,000 euros in cash per team to cover living expenses during the programme, office space in Dtec, mentorship from more than 100 industry experts, business consultation and advisory support, as well as access to seed funding.
“Being selected as one of the top ten teams to join the program enabled us to achieve our vision of expanding into the UAE markets. The accelerator program helped us kickstart our business by connecting us with a network of industry leaders,” says Srinath Kandala, CEO of ScaleVR Technologies, a startup that graduated from the second cohort of the Accelerator. “We look forward to continuing to scale our business in the UAE and expand within the MENA market thanks to the connections we made and the knowledge we gained from the mentors, partners, and trainers,” adds Kandala.
Once completed, the startups will join Startupbootcamp’s global alumni network consisting of over 800 startups accelerated around the world who have raised over half a billion euros in investment. Until now, DSCA has accelerated 20 startups from across the globe and is in the middle of its third cohort, selected from over 1,800 applications.
