UAE AI Firm G42 Launches Europe & UK Headquarters in London
Abu Dhabi’s AI giant establishes London HQ to deliver sovereign AI tools and infrastructure across Europe.
G42, the United Arab Emirates–based artificial intelligence firm, has launched a new subsidiary—G42 Europe & UK—with its headquarters in London, marking a major step in its international expansion. The move positions the company to offer AI solutions to private-sector clients and governments across the UK and European Union while addressing data sovereignty and digital infrastructure needs.
The firm has appointed two experienced co-chairs to lead the regional operations. Omar Mir, an international board member at World Wide Technology, brings over 20 years of experience in cloud, 5G, and AI services across Europe, the US, and the Middle East. Marty Edelman—G42’s Group General Counsel—will oversee regulatory compliance and legal strategy for the new hub.
The launch follows recent G42 moves to establish computer clusters and data centres in France and Italy, part of its broader push into the European AI and digital infrastructure space. G42 Europe & UK will tap into its parent company’s global AI infrastructure, including supercomputing nodes and advanced data-centre capabilities, offering strategic advisory, AI model development, infrastructure deployment, and managed services.
Target sectors include finance, healthcare, energy, and manufacturing—areas where sovereign AI tools and data governance are increasingly crucial. The unit will also partner with public bodies to ensure AI systems meet regional data sovereignty and compliance standards.
