The UAE-based platform introduces avatar-led shopping and creator-driven commerce.

LaLaZar, a UAE-based digital marketplace that blends e-commerce with social interaction and creator-led content, has launched what it describes as the world’s first interactive virtual mall.

The platform allows users to enter through personalised avatars, explore virtual storefronts and interact with other users and content creators in real time. Products are discovered through content, reflecting a growing shift towards creator-led commerce as a direct sales channel.

The model is positioned as an alternative to traditional retail structures, where operating costs such as rent, staffing and utilities can account for 30% to 50% of revenue. By moving operations into a digital environment, the platform aims to reduce overheads while maintaining a more engaging customer experience.

“We are not only redefining the shopping experience—we are introducing a new economic model that empowers brands to adapt and grow under any conditions,” Fairouz Daoud said.

LaLaZar launches with 77 stores, bringing together brands and creators within a single ecosystem designed to convert content directly into transactions. It also enables startups and smaller businesses to enter the market without significant upfront investment.

The launch comes as digital commerce continues to expand across the Middle East, with the retail market projected to exceed $162 billion by 2026.

The platform also includes monetisation tools for creators, allowing them to generate income through product promotion and engagement.
