The annual programme’s been revamped to include more benefits that would help the founder propel their ventures, and become more impact-driven businesses.

Regional media company and entrepreneurship platform Womena has announced the cohort of startups taking part in Womentum Cycle 3. The lineup is made up of five tech female-led startups that will be joining the three-month accelerator, and will witness first-hand a freshly revamped programme that has put helping these MENA-based businesses grow and become more impact-driven at the forefront.

The programme also includes several other pillar platforms in the global ecosystem, such as  Standard Chartered Bank UAE, Google for Startups and Boston Consulting Group. Each of the founders will have direct access to Womena’s vast network, made up of heavyweight partners that would help set in motion the emergent business leaders’ efforts. Additionally, each startup will receive more than $20,000 worth of tech, legal and consulting services, courtesy of the platform’s many partners. The five startups selected are: Finyal Media (UAE), Explore Agora (Egypt), Mint Basil Market (Lebanon), Shadana Yoga (Palestine) and The Hair Addict (Egypt).

"In a time where people strive for authentic communities for support, we're thrilled to work with a group of startups that provide exactly that,” says Habiba Helmy, Womentum’s managing director. "From serving the community's mental and physical health to educating children through artificial intelligence, boosting women's confidence by driving the natural hair movement, these diverse startups have proved they have what it takes to thrive in a global crisis.”
