du Pay Enables Direct Salary Deposits Into Digital Wallets in the UAE
With du Pay’s new feature, employees can now have their salaries credited directly into digital wallets using a provided IBAN, boosting financial access for underbanked workers.

du Pay, the digital payments arm of the UAE’s telecommunications operator du, has launched a new feature called 'Salary in the Digital Wallet' (SITW). This service enables employees across the UAE to receive their salaries directly into a du Pay digital wallet without a bank account.
Upon registering with du Pay, users receive a unique IBAN for salary deposits. The funds become instantly available in the du Pay mobile app and can be accessed via a physical du Pay card. The initiative targets low-income workers earning under Dhs 5,000 per month, many of whom lack access to conventional banking services. du Pay offers them zero-balance accounts, removing barriers to account opening.
In addition to salary payments, du Pay’s digital wallet supports features like bill payments, telecommunications recharges, international money transfers, card payments, and ordering a debit card.
The company plans to extend its platform further with advanced salary disbursement solutions for employers.
