Coders and engineers are gathering at Cairo's Nile University campus on February 6th and 7th to join what is shaping to be the biggest machine learning and data science-gathering in the country
As a first-of-its-kind hackathon, Machathon 1.0 is offering a grand prize of EGP 10,000 for the winning team, while prizes of EGP 7,000 and EGP 3,000 awaiting second and third place respectively.
Hackathon aside, the two-day event will include over 15 speeches and panel discussions, as well as over a dozen workshops. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with Machine Learning market leaders, with the companies at the forefront of the Data Science and Machine Learning market in Egypt setting up booths and keeping a keen eye on the next big thing.
The hackathon has been launched by Steps Towards Progress (STP), a student-led initiative at Ain Shams University that aims to aid and develop emerging Egyptian youth on their entrepreneurial endeavours.
