Cairo-Based Legaltech Hekouky Raises Undisclosed Pre-Seed Round
The startup is on a mission to empower entrepreneurs by taking the legal burden off their shoulders by making legal transactions sampler, faster and more transparent.
Cairo-based Legaltech platform, Hekouky, has raised an undisclosed amount in its pre-seed round led by Nama Ventures. Hekouky incorporates companies and registers trademarks for entrepreneurs and business owners, streamlining and simplifying legal transactions.
“Our mission is to make entrepreneurs feel safe to follow their dreams, in Egypt and in the MENA region,” says co-founder Hala Riad. “Entrepreneurship is a test of wills, one that we will make easier by taking the legal burden off your shoulders.” Hekouky was founded by an all-women trio, bringing a wide range of backgrounds and extensive industry experience to the table.
Hala Riad is a lawyer specialised in arbitration and corporate law, while fellow co-founder May Abdelbary is the fromer CT of Paynas, with nine years of experience in legal software development. Fatima Khalil, meanwhile, brings a deep understanding of startups, having started three companies prior to Hekouky.
