Syrian Startup Labby Raises $10 Million to Build Super App

Labby, a Syrian startup, has secured $10 million in foreign investment to develop a super app that will bring together ride-hailing, delivery and a range of digital services on a single platform.

The investment was announced during a signing ceremony in Damascus hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, where officials described the deal as Syria's first foreign venture capital investment in a local technology startup.

The funding will support the launch and expansion of Labby's platform, which aims to consolidate multiple consumer services into one application as the country's digital economy continues to develop.

The company plans to combine transportation, delivery and additional digital services within a single interface, following the super app model that has gained traction in several emerging markets by allowing users to access multiple services through one platform.

According to those involved in the initiative, the investment is also intended to encourage greater participation from technology companies and investment funds while supporting the development of Syria's digital services ecosystem.
