Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has commissioned four national digital platforms as part of efforts to modernise the country’s university and research ecosystem.

The new systems are intended to improve efficiency, accessibility and coordination across higher education institutions, while strengthening student services and innovation infrastructure.

One of the platforms, the University Network for Business Incubators and Entrepreneurship Development Centers, links university-based incubators and entrepreneurship hubs nationwide. The network is designed to foster startup creation, support innovation and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.

A second platform, the Digital Registry of University Spin-off Companies, formally documents and monitors enterprises affiliated with universities. The system aims to improve governance, visibility and long-term sustainability of academic entrepreneurship initiatives.

The ministry also introduced a Digital Platform for Psychological Counseling, providing students with structured online access to mental health support services. In parallel, a Digital Meal Reservation Platform has been launched to streamline campus dining operations and meal planning.

Together, the platforms combine innovation support with student wellbeing and operational services, forming part of Algeria’s broader push to digitise and modernise its higher education sector.
