Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Franchise International to support and empower Egyptian and Saudi brands, accelerate franchise operations, and prepare local businesses for regional and international markets.

As part of the partnership, both parties will develop programmes aimed at improving franchise readiness, helping brands meet international standards, and providing technical and strategic guidance. This includes supporting local businesses in food, services, and retail sectors as they transition into franchise operations.

The collaboration is part of the preparations for the upcoming Egyptian–Saudi International Franchise Exhibition, scheduled for early 2026. The exhibition is expected to host over 300 brands, bringing together franchisors, investors, and support institutions from across the Arab world.

According to MSMEDA, around 70 Egyptian brands are already receiving support to scale through franchising, including guidance on branding, operations, and market entry strategies.
