DeepMinds, a decentralised venture studio that builds deep technology companies across the Middle East and North Africa, has launched DeepX, a platform designed to turn scientific research into scalable businesses.

The initiative was unveiled during the first DeepX summit at the Centre Cultural of the Grand Mosque, bringing together researchers, AI experts, policymakers and investors.

Backed by multiple Algerian government entities, the platform is structured to connect academic research, artificial intelligence development and industry execution within a single ecosystem.

DeepX will focus on five priority sectors: food security, healthcare, cybersecurity, logistics and smart cities, and fintech. The aim is to help researchers and startups move beyond early-stage work through structured venture-building, including validation and commercialisation.

The summit in Algiers gathered participants from across Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States, reflecting a wider push to strengthen research and development capacity in the region.

The platform is positioned as a response to a persistent gap in the Middle East and North Africa, where academic output has increased but commercialisation into market-ready companies remains limited.

Founded in 2023, DeepMinds focuses on building deep tech ventures across sectors such as healthcare and industrial technologies, with DeepX acting as a pipeline to convert research into economic output.
