Staff Writer

MENA’s first corporate VC specialised in education and culture, EdVentures, is gearing up to get new startups on board for its second cycle starting in September. The company has opened its registration and application process and will be receiving application forms until July 23rd

EdVentures provides educational and culture startups with the technical know-how, resources, trainings, and the investment they need to further grow and expand in the market. It was founded in October 2017 by Nahdet Misr Publishing Group in partnership with the ASRT’s Academy of Scientific Research and Technology "Intilac" project and the USAID’s Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development project.

The programme requires applicants to have already built their innovative products. Chosen startups would be enrolled in the acceleration phase, where they get adequate support to grow quickly and achieve traction through another intensive program, to reach their Product-Market Fit.

The first cycle of EdVentures started was in January 2018, where they supported and invested in five startups; “OTO”, “Greenish”, “Entreprenelle”, “Yohka Anna”, and “Books Bike. "Backed by Nahdet Misr’s 80 years of experience in the field of education, in addition to its several partnerships with international educational and edutainment companies worldwide, EdVentures offers its startups a second-to-none environment to grow and enter the local and international markets.

Applicants can fill in the application forms through the EdVentures’ website.
