Egyptian Tech Startup Platform To Kick Off Online Series with ‘Startup Whisperer’ Chris Heivly
The angel investor is the first in Alexandria-based platform Techne’s new series, TechneBytes, where veteran entrepreneurs and investors will share their knowledge.
Techne, the Alexandria-based tech startup platform behind the Mediterranean region’s leading startup event TechneSummit, is launching TechneBytes. Their first in the new series of online interviews with international experts will be next Sunday, April 5th, with international angel investor & ‘Startup Whisperer’ Chris Heivly.
Before he published his book ‘Build the Fort: Why 5 Simple Lessons You Learned As A 10-Year Old Can Set You Up for Startup Success,’ Heivly had co-founded MapQuest, which sold to AOL for over a billion dollars in 1999, and has since directed over $75 million in venture funds.
Before their pivot online, Techne had taken over Alexandria every year since 2017, with TechneSummit’s last iteration bringing 9,000 entrepreneurs, investors and key startup community stakeholders to the coastal city. It also featured the Startup World Cup, where Egyptian startup PraxiLabs won the chance to pitch for a $1 million dollar investment in the Grand Finale, this year in Silicon Valley.
