Unequivocally and relentlessly, March is women's month. This year, however, female events are massively taking over the startup scene in the Middle East, with a flurry of events. In Egypt, no only is Entreprenelle kicking off its trademark event, She Can, on March 2nd, but also with the arrival of a delegation of TechWomen programme from the USA's tehc hub, Silicon Valley.

TechWomen is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, aimed to increase mutual understanding through educational and cultural exchange. Launched in June 2011 with 37 participants from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and the Palestinian Territories, the programme later expanded to include women from Tunisia, Yemen, Cameroon, Kenya, Libya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Zimbabwe. In 2015, expanded to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and Pakistan.

The delegation landing this week in Egypt, invited by Egyptian TechWomen fellow Yomna Emad Saleh, includes powerhouses from companies like Mozilla, Twitter, LinkedIn, Mentoring Sandard, NASAAmes Research Center, and Singularity University and Stanford Agents, who will be participating in three events:

- Tuesday, Feb. 27th: Make what's Next. Holed at The Greek Campus in partnership with Microsoft Philanthropies, the event invites women, young ladies in STEM and entrepreneur to learn from Techwomen mentors on how to be resilient leaders in their professional roles. “Resilient Women”: Workshops for Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship; and Pitch Practice and Speed Geek, where attendees will practice their business pitches and then groups will have the opportunity to discuss feedback and ideas in small groups.
