Egypt's Entreprenelle Gears Up For the Largest Festival for Women Entrepreneurs in Cairo

Entreprenelle's flagship event, She Can, is coming back with a vengeance this year, taking over Cairo's downtown Greek Campus, where some of the country's most inspiring female bosses will share their success stories, but also their challenges and failures. The event, kick-starting on March 2nd, will roll on through two days of panel discussions, fireside chats, and workshops where would-be entrepreneurs can access mentorship.

The event invites girls and women of all ages to embark on entrepreneurial activities across in four tracks; Education, Media, Technology and Creative Industries. The event will include parallel activities happening altogether at the same time and place such as talks, panel discussions, workshops, exhibition, activities, live music, and catering.

“The main idea behind She Can is to help women and girls understand what entrepreneurship is, the opportunities that lie ahead of them in different fields, and how to transform their ideas into real projects having the required knowledge and experience, says Entreprenelle's founder, Rania Ayman. Since launching the platform in 2015, the entrepreneur has reached more than 10,000 women in 5 different governorates with more than 80 entrepreneurship workshops 10 educational events. 

"This year, we are going further, after closing an investment deal and stronger partnerships," Ayman tells Startup Scene ME, unveiling a partnership with Egypt's National Women Council. "We are reaching eight new cities, supporting and reaching out to more women in different places," adds the entrepreneur, a winner of the Injaz entrepreneurship prize, a member of AWID (Association for Women’s Rights in Development), and a Global Shaper. Earlier in 2017, Startup Scene featured Ayman as one of six entrepreneurs empowering women through their startups. 

Ayman explains that one of the biggest issues that cause a gap in the entrepreneurship field is that women are unaware of the available resources in the market. "That’s why in Entreprenelle we act as the link that connects women to all available resources in one place," she says.

Now, the largest event yet sets off to help girls and women get exposed to success stories of women who managed to overcome personal, career and gender related challenges, gain knowledge from experts in the entrepreneurship field, engage in different activities for moms and kids, network with lots of women from different backgrounds, attend different workshops that are essential for every woman who wants to start a new business, and enjoy the exhibition area with live music and catering. The event speakers include prominent female figures such as Mariam Farag, Amy Mowafi, May Abdel Asim, Rania Abou Rabia and Yasmine Gaith.
