Paymob Partners With Khazna to Expand Digital Finances in Egypt
The partnership will enable over 170,000 SME merchants to manage and grow their business in Egypt.
Paymob, a financial services provider for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan (MENAP) region, has partnered with Khazna, an Egypt-based super app, to expand access to digital financial services to merchants in Egypt.
With the new partnership, merchants in Paymob’s network can offer Khazna’s services via their integrated Point of Sale (POS) devices to Khazna’s customers. According to the startup, this partnership will enable over 170,000 SME merchants to manage and grow their business.
“We are committed to powering the growth of small and medium-size businesses by serving as a trusted partner, providing them with innovative financial technologies that enable them to manage and grow their businesses,” Gillan Shaaban, Chief Commercial Officer of Paymob, tells StartupScene. “Khazna’s solution is a great addition to our payment acceptance offering and will further fuel financial inclusion in the market.”
Besides enabling payments through a single POS device, making for a secure and convenient payment solution, this partnership is also expected to support merchants by offering them additional financial options to meet customer demand.
The digitisation of financial solutions is inline with the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) Financial Inclusion Strategy, and Egypt’s Vision 2030, which paves the way for inclusive development and the transition to a digital economy.
Earlier this month, Paymob partnered with Khazenly to fully digitize business operations for merchants.
Founded in 2015 by Islam Shawky, Alain El Hajj and Mostafa Menessy, Paymob has evolved its payment solutions to enable businesses to accept digital payments both online and offline via its gateway, point of sale (POS), and app products.
