How IWG is Shaping the Future of Flexible Work Solutions in Egypt
We speak to IWG Country Manager for Egypt, Youssef Najeeb, on IWG's plans for an evolving professional landscape.
Since the turn of the decade, the professional landscape in globally has experienced a foundational shift as hybrid work and flexible workspaces become the standard for businesses and startups of all shapes and sizes. At the heart of this movement is International Workplace Group (IWG), a global leader in flexible workspace solutions - one that has positioned Egypt as its fastest-growing market worldwide.
As the global leader in hybrid work solutions, IWG’s unrivalled network includes over 4,500 locations across more than 120 countries, providing a platform for companies to increase their productivity, efficiency, agility, and market proximity through professional, inspiring and collaborative workspaces.
IWG’s trajectory within Egypt offers insight into a changing economy, having tripled its footprint in the last twelve months, with plans afoot to be operational in 60 locations across Egypt by the end of 2026. This rapid expansion strategy is designed to meet the increasingly diverse needs of the modern workforce, offering a diverse portfolio of tiered brands that includes the creative atmosphere of Spaces, the corporate reliability of Regus, the efficiency of HQ, and the premium experience of Signature. These environments are increasingly reflecting a hospitality-infused trend, featuring sensory design and concierge-style services that transform the office into a lifestyle experience, exemplified by IWG’s latest partnership with YOO.
The centerpiece is the upcoming landmark ‘Spaces at The Arc’ in New Cairo. Spanning 16,000 sqm, it will become the largest IWG center globally. The expansion is also moving into key coastal and provincial cities like Alexandria and New Alamein, essentially decentralising traditional offices and supporting IWG’s 15-minute city model. In 2026, these urban ecosystems are being built from the ground up to encourage connectivity, allowing professionals to work from suburban commuter hubs and save up to $30,332 a year by reducing lengthy commutes. This facilitates a return-to-several-offices model where teams are empowered to work from a network of convenient locations, a shift already embraced by 83% of Fortune 500 companies who make up IWG's growing customer base.
For Youssef Najeeb, Country Manager of IWG in Egypt, this signals a huge vote of confidence in Egypt’s growing role as a business hub for the MENA and Africa regions - something he’s seen firsthand, having expanded IWG’s footprint across Egypt from 10 facilities in two cities, to over 30 across six cities.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for Najeeb, however; as demand for space-as-a-service continues to rise, IWG’s infrastructure is proving essential for companies navigating the complexities of a new era. This includes a 2026 focus on reversing ‘quiet cracking’ through employee wellbeing and leveraging technological advancements like AI copilots. With 62% of Gen Z employees already coaching older colleagues on AI to boost productivity, IWG’s digital services via their app are helping businesses create a future that is more local, more personal and more intelligent than ever before.
