Egypt's The TriFactory & Optomatica Launch New Sportstech App Racemate
With over a decade of experience organising massive running events, the TriFactory is finally entering the sportstech scene.
Racemate, a sportstech solution, has been launched by two Egyptian market leaders - Optomatica and The TriFactory. The innovative running platform is expected to disrupt the field in the coming years, combining industry-standard and new features into one comprehensive tech solution.
The Racemate app offers a new running experience, with customisable features that are not found in other running apps, including audio-guidance, real-time pacing strategies, and live tracking features. Racemate's core paying customers are race organisers and sports event management companies. The app offers race organisers state-of-the-art features, including direct in-ear communication with every single runner, superior tracking, and emergency response triggers.
Racemate's founders have been successful in integrating the app with a dozen races across the country, including races organised in Cairo, Giza, Siwa, Alexandria, Kafr El Sheikh, and the Red Sea.
"Expanding Racemate's footprint across the country and serving as many runners as possible has been of the utmost importance during our initial start-up phase", Racemate co-founder & CEO, Dr. Mohammed El Beltagy tells StartupScene.
The company has set its sights even farther, with strategic partnerships opening the door to regional expansion; Racemate has officially landed in Dubai, with thousands of users from two key races taking place in April 2023. The app's multi-lingual interface is available in English, Arabic, Swedish, and Italian, including audio-guidance in all four languages.

Over the coming 18 months, Racemate will continue its expansion around Egypt and the MENA region, focusing on strategic partnerships with major running events, an increased digital presence via virtual running challenges, and the overall goal of acquiring market share in the running app segment.
The app is available on both Android and iOS, with all premium features available free of charge for a limited period.
