Egyptian Edtech for Lawyers Kouncel Raises $1.2 Million Pre-Seed
Launched this year, the platform offers lessons and courses for lawyers-in-the-making.
Kouncel, an Egyptian legal ed-tech startup, offers courses to help budding lawyers learn about the particulars of arbitration, legal drafting, the differences of intellectual property law in different jurisdictions, and other such topics that may only have been briefly touched upon during the long journey to pass the bar.
Launched this year by Ibrahim Saleh, is looking to spread their lessons further across Egypt and the MENA region, with a $1.2 million pre-seed round opening the path for them to do exactly that. Zaldi Capital, the African Development Bank, the Academy for Scientific Research and Technology, and Tanmia was Tatweer - an Egyptian development project that focuses on entrepreneurs - participated in the round.
Using these funds, Kouncel hopes to scale the company in order to reach more users throughout the region.
