Fitness Startup Inggez To Represent Palestine In Seedstars Summit For A Chance To Win $1 Million

The Palestinian chapter of Seedstars has crowned the country's best startup to be Inggez, an on demand fitness startup aimed to provide people with accessible fitness options in order to get them active for at least once a week. The event took place on November 13^th, at The Park Grand Hotel, Ramallah, and nine selected startups were invited to present their companies in front of the local jury panel and around 250 attendees.

“The competition was tough and all the startup presented great ideas with huge potential," says Ali Tazami, CEO of Inggez. "We look forward now to attending Seedstars Summit 2019 in Switzerland and representing Palestine there, hoping to grow our network, meet other entrepreneurs, exchange experiences and brainstorm great ideas to make the world a better place. In the meantime, we will continue expanding Inggez to other countries in the region to empower people in MENA with flexible and cost effective fitness options with our on demand fitness solution," explains Tazami.

As a part of the prize, Inggez will be participating at the Seedstars Summit, which takes place in Switzerland, in April 2019. It is a weeklong training programme, with the opportunity to meet over 65 winners from other fast growing economies, as well as investors and mentors from around the world. The final day of the Summit is dedicated to pitching in front of an audience of more than 1000 attendees, with the possibility of winning up to $1 million in equity investment among other prizes.

Other runners up included JWAR, that came in second with its digital signage platform to connect existing LCDs in high traffic locations, and transforms them to targeted digital advertising space, while Gamiphy came in third with its user engagement and retention platform helping businesses acquire and retain more customers through gamification.

"Entrepreneurs in Ramallah are without a doubt some of the finest and most innovative I’ve met across the region," says Omar Barakat, Seedstars MENA's associate. "They’ve been able to overcome many barriers and develop a small, but  high potential ecosystem of tech startups. We’re looking forward to binging more of our programmes to Palestine in next year."
