Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), an executive wing of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has launched the Digital Transformation 4 Software Development Companies (DX4SW) initiative which aims to provide support for local software development firms.

The initiative was founded through ITIDA’s collateral Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) in line with the state’s vision of digital transformation and enterprise agility, especially in the local IT sector. The DX4SW initiative will mainly be helping software development companies build digital strategies and achieve business objectives by leveraging SECC’s expertise in applying international quality standards within the local software industry.

According to the DX4SW product structure, the SECC is to present an innovative, technology-enabled, and capability-based reference architecture to help beneficiary companies meet global digital transformation trends. Companies will be subject to an initial assessment requiring Egyptian IT firms to have at least three years of work experience and be registered within ITIDA’s online company database.

The DX4SW initiative comes in cooperation with the Chamber of Information Technology and Communication  as well as the Egyptian Information, Telecommunications, Electronics, and Software Alliance. Both entities are providing incentives for their member companies to join the initiative, with 80 percent subsidies for small enterprises, 70 percent to medium-sized enterprises, and 60 percent to large enterprises.
