UAE-based Jordanian-led startup RIZEK has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Cloud for cloud-computing services, in an effort to continue developing their technology.

“This is the first partnership of its kind with Alibaba Cloud in the region, we are honoured and proud to be partnering with a cutting-edge platform that is aiming to improve people’s lives,” says Liu Zhaopi, CEO of Alibaba Cloud.

After recently securing $1.5 million in seed funding round, RIZEK is among the first tech-based startups to collaborate with Alibaba Cloud, a sub-division of the Chinese technology giant. The agreement will foresee the creation of innovative solutions based on the support provided to RIZEK by Alibaba Cloud, which will enhance user experience capabilities as well as the company’s analysis of data in the UAE.

“Alibaba Cloud has the third-largest share of the global cloud computing market and the collaboration provides us with an ideal opportunity to use analytics powered by big data and AI technologies to better understand our customers and provide them with more tailored services,” says Layan Barghouthi, CEO at RIZEK.

According to the press release, the two entities have sealed the deal at the Alibaba Cloud office in Dubai, with senior representatives from each organisation present.
