Womentum Launches Third Cycle for Female-Led Tech Startups

Early-stage female-led tech startups can now apply for the third cycle of the game-changing accelerator.

Womentum - the Middle East’s first female-focused tech accelerator founded and directed under the umbrella of womena - is launching its third cycle in collaboration with Standard Chartered’s Women In Tech.

Early-stage startups with at least one female co-founder who owns equity in the company can now apply for the four-month experience-based acceleration program. The accelerator will run from July until October, with bootcamps in both Egypt and Dubai, immersing startups in Egypt’s thriving ecosystem, and then connecting them with world-class investors, mentors and regional markets in Dubai.

“womena has built a program that we felt was lacking in regional ecosystem focused on female-led startups,” says Elissa Freiha, founder of womena. The accelerator is experience-based, “taking the entrepreneurs out of their comfort zones and forcing them to look differently, innovatively, at their solutions.”

“In the world of tech, women are often under-represented and face many challenges that limit their ability to thrive,” says Rola Abu Manneh, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank UAE, who will be awarding the three top-performing startups a total of $30,000 in equity-free prize money.

Applications are open until April 19th. Click here.
