4 Finalists Down: Meet the Startups from Tunis and Ramallah, Pitching by the Pyramids on Dec 8

A fifth startup from Ramallah also won a spot at the startup station during RiseUp Summit 2019.

Inching closer to Pitch by the Pyramids, and even closer to the highly anticipated RiseUp Summit, a beehive of local qualifiers are on a mission to find the most competent startups to pitch by the grand pyramids of Giza on December 8th. So far, the esteemed jury qualified Dryser and Seemba from Tunisia and Receet and Gamiphy from Palestine.

A Tunisian startup launched with the Founder Institute that promotes agriculture through innovative technologies using only renewable energy.

Aiming to spur a revolution in the video game market, Seemba aims to provide players with the opportunity to monetise their talent by participating in e-sport tournaments.

Receet

From Palestine, Receet is a mobile app that aims to improve shopping experience through digital receipts. Customers can get a rich digital receipt instantly pushed to their smartphone by simply approaching the hardware in front of the POS terminal.

A user engagement platform that implements gamification techniques to help businesses acquire and retain more customers.

Moreover, Arabeep, a Palestinian startup that provides an app for vehicle financing, won as a startup exhibitor at the Summit.

The competition is targeting startups from Cairo, Beirut, Dubai, Tunis, Amman, Ramallah, and Riyadh. Regional partners from each of the startup ecosystem hubs in these cities are organising local qualifier rounds to select the most innovative and scalable startups to proceed to the final event at the Pyramids. Next up is Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which is happening as we type.
