The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) will launch four EU-funded regional projects on Thursday 6th of May, in the spirit of promoting Egyptian innovation and entrepreneurship.

The projects aim to establish and develop business incubators, as well as provide technical and financial support for entrepreneurs and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Tariq Tawfiq, the First Vice President of the Union of Euro-Mediterranean Industries Federations, highlighted that the union seeks to connect entrepreneurs and SMEs from both sides of the Mediterranean working in new and renewable energy, water desalination and tourism.

To ensure wide access, the hybrid event will allow in-person attendance at the AASTMT’s Smart Village Campus alongside virtual attendance on Zoom, enabling participation from project partners in EU countries.

The four projects are expected to continue for a period of three years, with a total budget of approximately €20 million.
