Egyptian travel-tech startup, Tripdizer, announces the closing of its seed round with $300,000 from 500 Startups, with participation from Innoventures and Jamal ElDabal. The innovative startup enables travel enthusiasts to plan and book curated trips by learning about their personality traits and desires. With the new round of funding, Tripdizer will accelerate its efforts to develop a more dynamic product, expand its footprint and strength its brand name in the region.

“The Middle East is the fastest-growing outbound travel market in the world and we are seeing a high rate of internet and technology adoption," says Ziad Eladawy, CEO and founder of Tripdizer. "It is expected that over the next two years that 50% of the travel bookings will be made online and we want to be in the forefront of such wave in the region. There has never been a better time for a solution like Tripdizer, not only because it fills a gap in the travel ecosystem, but also because the demand is growing for online travel booking services. We have experienced a tremendous increase in demand for personalised trips in recent years and we are proud that we are well-positioned to meet this ever-growing demand for unique and innovative travel experiences and itineraries.”

Established in 2017 by Ziad Eladawy, Yara Yehia, Sameh Saleh, Hatem Ayoub and Mohamed Mostafa, Tripdizer aims to overcome the difficulty and time-consuming process of travelers organising trips by providing an enhanced travel services that allows the customer to book an entire trip with their own specified preferences with a touch of a button. Tripdizer has managed to transform into a smart technical solution that aims to help MENA-based travelers improve their experience by connecting with a well-established team that assists every customer as per their preferences, budgets for flights, accommodation and activities. Additionally, Tripdizer uses machine-learning to generate curated trips for travelers within a few minutes.

Travel is one of the most prominent industries in the world, especially in the MENA region where the industry has been growing rapidly with the advent of online booking. According to global travel market research company, Phocuswright, online bookings will continue to grow multifold for the next few years and is expected to reach $44.5 billion in revenue in 2021.

“In the MENA region, there has been significant growth in online travel market, as tech savvy consumers are now looking for an overall travel booking experience where they want to plan and book their accommodation, tickets, tours/activities all on one common platform," says Sharif ElBadawi, Managing Partner at 500 Startups MENA. In such a market, Tripdizer is strategically positioned to change complicated and intricate travel plans into an exciting, comfortable and memorable travel experience. Since its inception, Tripdizer has been growing steadily at 30% month-on-month, successfully increasing the customer base to thousands of travelers. We are pleased to have led this funding round and look forward to working closely with this remarkable team as they advance to the forefront of the travel industry.”

Earlier this year, Tripdizer was recognised as the most innovative travel startup in the region in an event jointly organised by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and the United Nation’s World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
