Egypt’s Falak Startups has announced a new call for investments - outside it’s regular cycles - for startups that need funding, coaching and access to markets in these trying times. With up to EGP 1 million up for grabs, it couldn’t have come at a better time for many entrepreneurs wondering how to make their next move while the world’s economies become unstable.

With a focus on HealthTech, FinTech, CleanTech, EdTech, e-commerce, 3D printing, logistics and remote work solutions, Falak Startup’s new initiative will also provide perks to the selected startups; in the past this has meant that the accelerator can help with office space, mentorship, legal support and training. This fast-tracked support program is a stand-alone initiative, outside of their traditional acceleration process, to ensure a tailored approach to the current market.

“Our specialised call for startups is our contribution to the Egyptian entrepreneurship ecosystem during these uncertain times. We are looking to fund high impact startups within our shortlisted sectors of interest for up to 1 million pounds. We are hoping to provide the necessary tools to capitalize on this unique opportunity for technology startups,” Yousef Elsammaa CEO of Falak Startups, tells StartupScene.

Aiming to give ambitious early-stage startups a boost during these uncertain times, Falak Startups hopes to help entrepreneurs finetune their products for a better market fit, as well as advise on revenue models, operations and growth hacking. Applications for this one-off chance to get investment from the accelerator are open until April 20th 2020.

Continuing their ongoing support to their last in-person cycle before nationwide lockdowns, Falak Startups alums aren’t slowing down either. Their day-to-day includes coordinating one-on-one meetings with potential partners, creating educational content to help navigate these rocky waters and being on call and available for any of their startups.
