Minimum Wage Increase May Be Introduced in Egypt's Private Sector
The Council for Higher Wages may soon raise the minimum wage in Egypt's private sector to EGP 2,400 a month thereby matching the wage hike that government workers received in March 2021.

Discussions are currently underway between Egypt’s Council for Higher Wages and representatives and committees across multiple institutions - including the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the Ministry of Manpower - to raise the minimum wage in the country’s private sector to EGP 2,400 a month thereby matching the wage hike that government workers received in March 2021.
The Council is expected to reach a final decision by the end of May 2021.
