Moroccan Startup Weego Raises $1.1M Led by Azur Innovation Fund
The Moroccan–Senegalese startup plans to scale its integrated transport platform across new cities and markets.
Weego, a Moroccan–Senegalese mobility startup, has raised $1.1 million in a funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm Azur Innovation Fund to expand its integrated urban transport platform.
Founded in 2020 by Saad Jittou and Mor Niane, the company operates a mobility-as-a-service app that combines multiple transport options—including public transit, ride-hailing and corporate transport—within a single interface. The platform is designed to simplify urban commuting in cities where transportation systems are often fragmented.
“Transportation is the primary obstacle to economic activity, and we are building the technological layer that will make infrastructure more efficient,” said Weego co-founder and CEO Saad Jittou.
Alongside its consumer application, the startup also operates WeegoLines, a staff transportation service designed for companies that need organised employee mobility.
The new funding will support expansion into additional Moroccan cities while strengthening enterprise services such as WeegoLines. The company also plans to scale its multimodal platform and prepare for entry into new markets across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Weego positions its technology as a digital coordination layer for urban mobility systems rather than simply a consumer transport app, aiming to improve visibility, efficiency and organisation across fragmented transport networks through data integration.
