Cybastion & Cisco to Build Sovereign Digital Infrastructure in Morocco
Following talks in Rabat, the plan targets 100% renewable infrastructure and a future‑ready digital workforce.
US digital infrastructure company Cybastion and networking and cybersecurity giant Cisco are expanding their partnership to support digital infrastructure development across Africa, with Morocco emerging as a key focus for the next phase of the collaboration.
The announcement followed meetings in Rabat between senior executives from both companies, including Cybastion CEO Thierry Wandji Ketchiozo and Cisco Executive Vice President Francine Katsoudas, alongside regional leaders.
The discussions centred on preparations for an increasingly AI-driven future and the need for digital infrastructure that allows countries to maintain greater control over their data and technological capabilities.
As part of the expanded partnership, the companies plan to develop sovereign digital infrastructure in Morocco powered entirely by renewable energy.
According to Cybastion and Cisco, the initiative is intended to provide governments with more resilient digital infrastructure, stronger cybersecurity capabilities and access to advanced technologies aimed at supporting long-term economic growth.
The two companies also said they intend to deepen cooperation around workforce development, with a focus on building digital skills and supporting more inclusive growth across the continent.
The expansion comes as governments and businesses across Africa increase investments in digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence capabilities to strengthen competitiveness and support economic development.
