Egypt’s Falak Startups Debuts First Video Series from New In-House Production Arm

The first of more to come, the ‘Living Room Series’ debuted today with some of the top investors around locking horns and discussing the world of venture capital.

Egypt’s largest accelerator, Falak Startups, has for the duration of existence been on the frontline of the country's ever-evolving ecosystem, a champion of its increasing innovation. It’s in this spirit of empowerment that Falak has launched a brand new online video series, the first native, independently produced content from a newly established in-house production arm.

Aiming to teach and discuss the kinds of topics you won’t usually find at business schools for entrepreneurship events, the 'Living Room Series' brings together the region's top investors to offer a unique venture capital perspective on the very many moving parts of the ecosystem.

Debuting today, the first episode was released via the Falak Startups YouTube page and features some pretty heavy hitters. Moderated by Falak Startups’ Managing Director, Yousef El Sammaa, the panel features Managing Partner at Endure Capital, Tarek Fahim; Managing Director at Global Ventures, Amal Enan; Chairman and CEO of Egypt Ventures, Ahmed Gomaa; and Sawar Ventures' Tamer Azer.

At one almost 1 hour and 30 minutes, the participants certainly don't hold back in their analysis and discussion of the episode's topic, 'Unlocking VC Investment Strategy', with a small but engaged audience.

Beyond serving the ecosystem, however, this and other native content to come aim to reach a wider audience, giving more people insight on the state of said ecosystem today and the seemingly never ending waves of innovation arising in it.

“Content creation has been a key driver to establish thought leadership in any industry,” Karima Karima El Hakim, Falak Startups’ Head of Business Development & Investor Relations, told StartupScene. “Given the scarcity of native content in Egypt and the region, we saw this as an opportunity to support the local ecosystem with valuable guidance that we already extend to our closed community. We aim to cover real cases, give entrepreneurs a reality check and foster hope and confidence in the market with this original content. It's part of our overall commercial strategy to position Falak Startups as the top of mind enabler of the region.”

You can follow the Falak Startups YouTube page for more, or follow the accelerator on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date.
