Startup A Band At RiseUp 2015

If you’re an Egyptian musician who really wants to prove their skills under pressure, in front of a real life audience, here’s your chance. In collaboration with RiseUp Summit 2015, Startup Band Cairo is calling on all songwriters, composers, musicians, and vocalists to come and band together to form, well… a band.

 

Starting the evening of Thursday December 10th with a vocalists' open mic, the best will go on to form different bands with other musicians interested in participating. The new super-groups will then spend Friday and Saturday writing an original song and practicing to show off in a live competition on the RiseUp stage Saturday night. Prizes are awarded to the bands with the biggest hits.   

 

Don't worry, no one is excluded; you don’t need to be a pro at songwriting or an acclaimed musician to get involved. Just grab your guitar, drums, baglama saz, fife, or whatever you've got, and get to RiseUp 2015 to find out if you have what it takes to shake up Cairo's music scene.
