India’s Fashion E-Commerce Giant Myntra Teams Up with Noon and Namshi in UAE

The fast fashion online retailer has released its own-brand collections on the UAE’s most prominent e-commerce platforms.

Expanding outside of India for the first time since its launch in 2007, fashion e-commerce platform Myntra has announced its expansion into the MENA region. Partnering with prominent Emirati e-commerce platforms Noon and Namshi, a handful of Myntra’s own brands and private labels are already available to shop in the UAE.

“Our research identified high levels of potential channels across the globe offering significant opportunities in the online fashion segment. Amongst these, the Middle East stood out in terms of the audience’s demographic profile, extremely high mobile penetration, the similarity in fashion preferences and a large population of Indian origin. We are looking forward to a 5X growth from the partnership over the next two years. Myntra will continue to explore new markets in order to build brands of international repute and expand its base of global consumers,” says Myntra CEO Amar Nagaram.

Interestingly, most of Myntra’s brands listed on the UAE sites are casual and athletic wear - in response to a global rise in working from home, and the comfortable clothing we’ve all been wearing since then. “The Covid-19 outbreak has made the needs of consumers consistent across the globe. The pandemic has expedited a lot of our aspirations. We felt it was the right time to take leisure wear, t-shirts, and athleisure wear from our in-house brands overseas,” explains Nagaram to India’s Economic Times.
