KSA’s Creative+ Cloud Kitchen Raises $1 Million Investment
Founded in 2021, the cloud (or ghost) kitchen startup has emerged as a potential player in a growing sector.
Established in 2021 by Saudi native, Bakr AlHozaimi, Creative+ Cloud Kitchens’ innovative business model provides commercial kitchen spaces invented solely for online food delivery. Implanted in busy districts, these ‘dark kitchens’ amalgamate various restaurants and food options under one rooftop for seamless catering services.
Changing lifestyles, brought on by millennials with increased disposable incomes, as well as global pandemic mandates, have imposed and furthered the demand for convenience-based services. Stipulating the need for virtual kitchens, this surge in worldwide demand for food delivery services has enabled the global cloud kitchen market to increase in size, accounting for over 60% of the market share in 2020 alone and expected to reach 139.37 billion US dollars by 2028.
Subsequently, an increase in competition among restaurants and food delivery services bolstered the pressure to cut costs and maintain high-quality services. Startups such as Creative+ Cloud Kitchens permit restaurants and chefs alike to cut overhead costs and in turn increase profitability. With an e-commerce future-proof business model, Creative+ Cloud Kitchens act as that much-needed cost-cutting alternative to the traditional dine-in experience.
“The rise of the on-demand food delivery market has become a major trajectory in the food and beverage industry, and cloud kitchens are a critical component of this process,” says founder and CEO, Bakr Al Hozaimi, “The value of Global Cloud Kitchens was worth over $51 billion in 2020, and is expected to increase with an annual growth rate of 12.4% from 2021 to 2028,” he continues, “We at Creative+ aim to be a major player in the Middle East region in general and the Saudi market In particular.”
