The first shipment of advanced artificial intelligence chips from the United States has arrived in the UAE, marking a milestone in a growing technology partnership between the two countries.

The delivery forms part of a broader initiative tied to a planned UAE–US artificial intelligence campus with a total capacity of 5 gigawatts. Construction on the project is already under way, with the first 200 megawatts expected to come online in the near term.

Speaking at the SCSP AI+ Expo, Yousef Al Otaiba said Washington had approved the export of thousands of next-generation AI chips in November to support the development. The arrival of the initial batch was described as a key step in advancing joint infrastructure.

According to officials, the project is designed to deploy American-developed technology from Abu Dhabi at scale, with the potential to serve large populations globally, including emerging markets.

Al Otaiba also outlined the scale of economic ties between the two countries, noting that the UAE has already implemented investments worth $1 trillion in the United States, with a further $1.4 trillion planned over the next decade. More than 30 agreements have been signed over the past year across sectors including artificial intelligence, energy, and manufacturing.
