Egyptian Community Management Startup Milango Scores Six-Figure Seed Fund

Providing digital solutions for gated communities and members-only clubs, SAAS startup Milango secures a seed fund from A15.

As more and more Egyptians seek to leave the bustling cities and move out to suburban developments, residential compounds and members-only sports and country clubs are in high demand. While these spaces often provide security, comfort and access to special facilities, organising thousands of residents or members is no easy feat. Tackling this issue, while promoting contactless access in the age of COVID-19, Milango is an Egyptian startup that creates customisable apps for gated communities and clubs, seamlessly solving pain points like secure entry, facility booking and community-wide communications.

Already counting some of the Middle East’s biggest names in real estate development, sports and hospitality among its client-base (think Orascom, Emaar and SODIC) Milango has just scored a six-figure seed round, led by A15, alongside unnamed strategic angel investors. “With the support of our partners and A15’s strong technology ecosystem value they add to the equation, I am confident that Milango is on the right path to bringing the smart city of the future closer to today,” says Amr Mostafa, Milango’s newly appointed CEO.

Hoping to use the newly-raised funds to further develop their unique products, the Milango team are hoping to better serve their clients and, in turn, the end-users whether they are sports club members looking to reserve a tennis court, or a young family of compound residents looking to ease access for their guests. Built by co-founder and board member Ali Ibrahim (pictured above with Amr Mostafa) and his team at one of Egypt's foremost media agencies, Milango's sleek UX and UI is clearly the product of in-depth market research and a desire to simplify daily experiences.

“We invested in Milango because it makes sense due to the gap it is filling in the market by digitally transforming communities, whether compounds or clubs, and making the experience served to its residents and members more seamless, appealing and meaningful,” adds Fadi Antaki, Chairman at A15.
