Google-Backed Edtech Cuemath Expands GCC Presence With Move into Oman

The startup’s personalised math-learning platform has already been a hit everywhere from the US and UK, to Nigeria, Egypt and Singapore.

Edtech is flourishing in the Middle East, with estimated market growth anticipated to double in size to $7.6 billion by 2027. Riding the burgeoning wave of digitised education, Cuemath has caught global tech giant Google’s attention with its unique one-on-one personalised math learning platform. The enterprise consolidates videos, concept sheets, puzzle cards and simulations, offering customised on-demand services. 

As part of its ambitious expansion plans, Cuemath has now expanded into Oman, adding to a list of markets that also includes the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, Canada, UAE, Egypt, Nigeria, India and Thailand. With over 10,000 teachers from a range of different backgrounds, the Oman expansion came as the next logical step for Cuemath. 

“We are growing rapidly in the Middle East and are delighted to expand into Oman,” CEO Vivek Sunder expressed, “Oman has implemented great reforms to promote investment in, and diversify its economy. The jobs of the 21st century will increasingly have math skills at their core, so this is a perfect time for Cuemath to enter the Omani market.” 

This expansion aligns with Oman’s national goals, as per the nation;s ‘Vision 2040’. Long-term goals include plans to diversify the economy through sustainable means as well as facilitate job opportunities for Omani citizens, particularly within youth-based and education-centered industries.
