TechCrunch Is Bringing Startup Battlefield To The Middle East In October

TechCrunch just announced its first Startup Battlefield MENA taking place in Beirut, Lebanon on October 3^rd at Beirut Digital District. Gearing up before the battlefield, TechCrunch's representatives will be taking a tour in July around the startup ecosystem; from early-stage startups and entrepreneurs to investors.

They'll be visiting Tunis on July 12th, Cairo on 17^th and 18^th, and they'll be ending the tour with the Middle Eastern Silicon Valley, Dubai, on the 24^th. 

Startup Battlefield is TechCrunch’s trademark summit, giving startups a platform on which to step up their game and literally join the battlefield. There are about 765 companies that have graduated from Startup Battlefield alumni, raising over $8 billion and producing over 105 successful exits and IPOs.

Founders interested in applying should have an early-stage company in "launch" stage and headquartered in one of these eligible countries: Algeria, Armenia, Bahrain, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Yemen. Startup must also have at least one fully working product or under beta, reasonably close to, or in the process of production. TechCrunch also requires applying startups to have a "limited" press or publicity to date, and to be independent from any conflicts on intellectual property.
