The GrEEK Campus & MQR Merge Into MENA’s Largest Startup Community
The merger is poised to usher in a new era of cooperation and innovation in Egypt’s workspace industry.
The GrEEK Campus and MQR, two prominent entrepreneurial communities in Egypt, have announced a merger that looks to invigorate the local economy. This strategic move aims to establish the largest member community of entrepreneurs in Egypt, boasting more than 3,500 members representing over 450 companies and encompassing more than 50,000 square metres of commercial space across the country.
A hub for homegrown innovation, the GrEEK Campus provides funding, mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources to nurture its members into successful businesses, while also hosting various events and workshops at its two campuses in Egypt. MQR, for its part, is a leading Egyptian workspace provider, specialising in turnkey solutions such as hot desks, coworking spaces, and meeting room bundles across 12 locations in the country.
Under the agreement, both the GrEEK Campus and MQR will maintain their individual identities while operating under a centralised leadership structure. By leveraging their combined network of 14 locations, community members will be able to expand their connections, forge new relationships, and unlock fresh business opportunities.
Over the next year, several projects will be launched by the partnership, accompanied by a pioneering shared workspace concept alongside comprehensive design-build, furnishing, and procurement services. Additionally, a unified online platform is in the works, set to launch in 2024, offering streamlined services where members can effortlessly search and book workspaces, exclusive events, and perks.
“Members become part of a strong and supportive ecosystem of like-minded individuals, gaining access to member-exclusive networking events, investment opportunities and business support services,” Muhammad Nagi, Co-Founder and CEO of MQR, tells StartupScene.
“This collaboration represents a new era of cooperation and innovation in the workspace industry, and we believe it will help our member companies drive economic growth and create new jobs,” Ahmed El Alfi, Chairman and Founder of The GrEEK Campus, says.
Founded in 2013, the GrEEK Campus serves as a hub for homegrown innovation, offering a nurturing environment for businesses at all stages.
