Lola Raises $3 Million to Expand Custom Cake Platform Across GCC
The round supports a new facility in Dammam and a network of cloud bakeries as demand grows for digital cake customisation.
Lola, a Bahrain-founded platform focused on customised cake ordering, has raised $3 million in a seed funding round to support its expansion across the GCC.
The round was led by Vision Ventures, with participation from Aljazira Capital, Seedra Ventures and Plus VC.
Founded in 2023 by Othman Janahi, Lola operates across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait, offering a digital interface that allows users to design and order customised cakes. The platform was developed to streamline a process often characterised by manual coordination and inconsistent results.
The new funding will be used to develop a central production facility in Dammam, alongside a network of cloud bakeries aimed at supporting regional demand and improving delivery efficiency.
The company previously raised $1.3 million in a pre-seed round in February 2025, backed by a mix of venture capital firms and angel investors.
Investors said the platform addresses operational inefficiencies in the customised food segment by introducing a structured, technology-driven approach. The broader market for celebration-related products is projected to grow in the coming years, supporting expansion opportunities for digital-first platforms.
Lola plans to extend its offering beyond cake customisation into a wider celebrations platform, including gifting and decoration services, as it scales its infrastructure and user base across the region.
